Please come to 1 of 3 open house events for the Climate Action and Adaptation Plan (CAAP). The Plan needs your input! Among the many important elements in the CAAP Plan, Forest health and protection is a high priority. Come give your thoughts and input on how the city can best manage our beloved forests under changing climactic conditions.
Development of the Climate Action and Adaptation Plan began in January. Through collaborations with community members, technical experts and City staff, the planning team has:
- Produced a Climate Profile, which outlines the expected climate changes in Coconino County.
- Created a Vulnerability Assessment, detailing potential risks to Flagstaff’s economy, public health, infrastructure and more.
- Developed goals and specific action items that will help the Flagstaff community prepare for a changing climate.
We are hosting three Open House events next week to update the community on the goals, strategies and actions proposed for the Plan, discuss our progress and receive feedback. See the online event for additional info.
